About IIDA Advocacy + Interior Design

Every day in state capitols around the country, lawmakers are making decisions on issues that affect Commercial Interior Design and how interior designers practice. As the voice for the industry, IIDA advocates for its members and the profession so interior designers may practice to their fullest abilities.

For over 20 years IIDA Members have advanced the quality of life for their clients and the public by creating interior spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional, safe, and building code compliant - from state-of-art cancer treatment facilities to sustainable renovations of multi-story condominium complexes.

Whether you would like to get involved in a local election, or advance the knowledge of your clients and the public, IIDA Advocacy and IIDA SFC RiseUp provides you the tools you need to leave a lasting impact on the policy process.

IIDA SFC not only advocates for policy change or enactment, but also for social causes that have a positive impact on our community. IIDA SFC advocates for those within our design community who are victims of social injustices, who don’t have a voice, and who’s lives matter just as much as any.

advocacy grant

The Advocacy Grant Program supports the advocacy and legislative efforts of individual IIDA Chapters. Since it inception in 2005, the program has supplied grant funding to 32 Chapters to host educational events, develop tools to make members better advocates for the profession, and provide opportunities to supplement costs for pursuing legislative initiatives. A portion of membership dues helps to provide funding for the grant.
