INAUGURAL FUND TO BENEFIT EMERGING DESIGNERS IN MEMORY OF RADHARANI LARIOS

The “Be Rad and Shine On” (#BRASO) Inaugural Fund is a memorial fund for our fearless leader, mentor, and friend, Radharani Larios. To know Rad was to know a force of nature—a shining light in our design community whose impact will be felt for generations.

As IIDA South Florida Chapter’s president, Rad famously introduced herself to her board by owning her vibrant spirit: "Yes, I’m a lot." She was a lot of personality, a lot of emotions, a lot of ambition, and a lot of adventure. But most importantly, as she told us, she was "a lot of laughter with a lot of love to give." That love radiated through everything she did.

Her dedication to the IIDA South Florida Chapter spanned over a decade, including 6 years of service on the board. Even through her fierce battle with cancer, Rad’s commitment to our community never wavered—she continued to lead, mentor, and uplift those around her with incredible strength and grace. As our president, Rad described her role as the "cheerleader in your corner." She cared deeply about the future of our chapter, prioritizing mentorship and succession planning to ensure those who followed her would succeed. She taught us that we are in this together.

In her memory, the #BRASO Fund carries Rad's legacy forward by providing financial support to emerging design talent—empowering the next generation of industry stars to step into their light and shine.
